Thibe's story
Living in Leysin, Thibe was introduced to mountain sports at a very young age. Starting with running from an early age, she joined the Swiss ski mountaineering team in 2018 in the U16 cadet category.
Since then, she has continued to climb the ranks of this demanding sport. Her commitment, hard work, and discipline have been the pillars of her success. At just 21 years old, Thibe Deseyn impresses with her remarkable journey and unwavering dedication to ski mountaineering.
"It's a beautiful sport, we train outside in the mountains and enjoy the view during training. I'm lucky to have my little sister who does the same sport as me so we can share outings together as a family in the evening after school, for example. Since I'm the older one, I try to share some tips with her but most of the time we laugh and talk." - Thibe
Alongside her remarkable journey in ski mountaineering, Thibe Deseyn successfully juggles her passion for mountains and her studies at HEC. This ability to reconcile her diverse passions demonstrates her versatility and commitment to excellence in all aspects of her life.
"University is also a big part of my life. I need something that allows me to disconnect from the world of sports. Juggling the two isn't easy every day, especially in the middle of the season, but with good organization, it's possible. I find joy in my studies and they suit me well."
A Season Filled with Emotion
Over the years, Thibe has participated in numerous national and international competitions, carving out a reputation in the ski mountaineering circuit. Her remarkable performances, both individually and as part of a team, have been praised by her peers and fans of the sport. Recently, Thibe won the prestigious Patrouille des Glaciers in the A2 race, demonstrating her determination, talent, and tenacity. She also finished 6th in the overall standings at the prestigious Pierra Menta race. Her season consisted of 25 races in total, allowing her to rank 20th in the overall elite standings and 4th in U23.

Thibe is very satisfied with her first season among the elites. Her main goal was to have a consistent season in terms of results, and that's what happened.
"In addition to the World Cups, I was able to gain my first experiences on the circuit of major races, the 'real ski mountaineering'. It's true that this kind of race has a different atmosphere, and you can feel it in the emotions once you cross the finish line."
